This election is all about going backward & looking forward. Mahinda Rajapaksha is the most dogmatic & backward leader in the present fray. Though Ranil seem to be a forward looking politician he can’t break the tentacles of dogmatism.
JVP which is the most vociferous party in the town is no different. They are going back day by day and even embracing some feudal elements. Anura Kumara not only worships feudal Mahanayakas but also bind their members by religious dogma. They are very vague about the relationship between religion and state.
Frontline Socialist Party is a protege of JVP and seem to be emphasizing on morals which are nothing but Victorian capitalist, Though nominally socialist they lack any idea about socialist modernisation.
In this backdrop the UNITED SOCIALIST PARTY is the only party which is having a futuristic view. We are a party not circumscribed by any religious dogma and feudalistic ideologies. May be we are two steps ahead of traditional mindset of general public. But we never compromise that only through the socialist modernisation that we can solve the chronic maladies which has engulfed our society.
